Fionia Maritime Academy is an online maritime education institution delivering accredited real-time courses to seafarers worldwide. The academy collaborates with leading players in the shipping industry and uses their unique "50-25-1 Principle": a maximum of 50 participants, a maximum of 25 minutes of uninterrupted instruction, and mandatory 1:1 sessions with instructors.
The Challenge
The maritime industry faced two parallel challenges: integrating AI tools into existing workflows and educating seafarers in practical AI use. Seafarers work under unique conditions, including limited internet connectivity, isolation, and rotating schedules, which requires an approach tailored to their reality.
Fionia Maritime Academy wanted a partner who could both help integrate AI into their platform and develop a complete AI course for their students.
The Solution

Track 1
AI Integration

Track 2
AI course for seafarers
We developed and taught the course "AI for Seafarers", a practical course designed specifically for seafarers' working conditions. The course followed Fionia's 50-25-1 Principle and focused on hands-on application of AI tools in daily maritime operations.
